
PAS also represents prisoners, taking end-to-end legal action against prisons on behalf of some 80 prisoners every year, where individual cases warrant this. In doing so, we ensure that prisons in England and Wales are made aware that they cannot get away with abusing, or ignoring, prisoners’ rights, and we influence prison policy in the longer term. Over the last five years, 2020 to 2025, PAS has successfully represented prisoners against 80 prisons across England and Wales, forcing them to acknowledge the rights of inmates.
