As you may know, in January Prisoners’ Advice Service and the Howard League for Penal Reform are challenging the legality of the cuts to legal aid for prisoners in the Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n
To ensure the case does not impact on our front-line services, we need to raise \u00a325,000. So we\u2019re crowdfunding for the case and we need your help!<\/p>\n

As you may know, since the cuts to legal aid came into force, violence and self-injury in prison have risen to record levels. More than 270 people in prison have taken their own lives. Calls to our charities have increased by almost 50 per cent.
