Prisoners’ Advice Service celebrates its<\/h1>\n

25th Anniversary!<\/h1>\n

As we celebrate the first 25 years of PAS, Prisoners’ Advice Service invites you\u00a0to our sixth annual panel discussion:<\/h4>\n

\n\u201cDiscrimination undisclosed: transgender, travellers and older prisoners\u201d<\/h4>\n

Transgender, traveller and older prisoners are amongst the most vulnerable in the prison population. Transgender prisoners often face additional challenges compared to other prisoners, including ill-treatment and violence at the hands of fellow inmates. \u00a0The national prison population is ageing at a rapid rate, and those over 60 are the fastest growing group due to longer sentences.\u00a0Travellers are traditionally labelled as difficult\u00a0to reach, with poor literacy skills hindering them from progression.\u00a0How can we ensure the human rights of these three groups are adequately protected?<\/p>\n
