She spent eight years as a board member of Merseyside Probation Trust until its dissolution in 2014, and spent two years as Director of Operations at the Women in Prison charity.\u00a0 Dominique believes that providing accurate and independent information and support is vital in enabling people to exercise their rights, especially in the complex and restrictive prison environment. She became Chair of the Trustees in October 2023.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5101\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5101\" aria-controls=\"collapse5101\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Peter Coll (Treasurer)<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5101\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5101\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Peter Coll<\/strong>\u00a0is currently the Head of Financial Planning &amp; Analysis at ITV Studios. He has worked in a number of roles at ITV, whom he joined in 2011. His background is in management accounting, and financial system implementation. Prior to joining ITV, he held various finance roles in organisations such as London Business School, BBC and Royal Mail. He holds a BA in Accounting with Computing from the University of Kent and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Peter became a Trustee at PAS in May 2024.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5102\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5102\" aria-controls=\"collapse5102\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Kassim Gaffar<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5102\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5102\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Kassim Gaffar<\/strong>\u00a0completed an MSc in IT systems from London School of Economics and subsequently qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte in London. Kassim has worked in the financial services sector since 1997, having held a number of roles in the corporate and investment banking arm of HSBC. Kassim is currently Director of Techrun Technologies Ltd, a company that provides IT services to non-profit and social sector enterprises. Kassim also mentors a number of start-up businesses. He joined PAS as a trustee in July 2015.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5103\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5103\" aria-controls=\"collapse5103\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Martine Lignon<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5103\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5103\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p>After most of her career spent in Adult, Further and Higher Education, Martine turned to prisoners\u2019 education, training and resettlement. She worked as Head of Learning and Skills at HMP Pentonville and HMP\/YOI Isis. Then, under OLASS 2, she was the education provider for residents of HMP\/YOI Holloway and HMP Pentonville, and East of London probationers. Once retired, Martine volunteered as employability trainer for The Refugee Council. She was a trustee of Women in Prison for some 20 years and the Chair of the Detention Advice Service for two years.\u00a0 She has been a participant in the\u00a0<em>Is it a Crime to be Poor?<\/em>\u00a0(ICP) alliance since its inception in 2020.\u00a0 Martine joined PAS as a trustee in 2012 and chaired PAS\u2019 Board of Trustees from January 2014 to October 2023, before continuing with PAS as a trustee once more.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5104\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5104\" aria-controls=\"collapse5104\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Katie Le-Billon<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5104\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5104\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Katie Le-Billon<\/strong>\u00a0is a Senior Philanthropy Manager at the leading children\u2019s charity, NSPCC, working with high-value Trust and Foundations. She holds a master\u2019s degree in Child Studies from King\u2019s College, where her research focussed on supporting young people affected by crime and the prison system. She has also previously worked with St Mungo\u2019s as as senior trusts and grants fundraiser and at the Howard League for Penal Reform as a research intern.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5105\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5105\" aria-controls=\"collapse5105\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Joy Lewis<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5105\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5105\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Joy Lewis<\/strong>\u00a0Joy is a criminal defence barrister at 25 Bedford Row chambers in London, and was called to the Bar in 2014. Her practice covers all areas of criminal law, with an emphasis on serious violent crime, drugs offences and public disorder. She has extensive experience representing young and vulnerable clients, including those with mental health disorders. Joy became a PAS Trustee in April 2023.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5106\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5106\" aria-controls=\"collapse5106\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Andrea Barba<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5106\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5106\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Andrea Barba<\/strong>\u00a0has a background in Clinical Forensic Psychology, and began her career as a mental health liaison and diversion practitioner across various Magistrates and Crown courts in London. In this role, she facilitated the diversion of individuals from court to hospital when they presented as unwell, and provided consultation to judges, solicitors and probation staff regarding the intersection between mental health and the criminal justice system to ensure the safeguarding of people in custody. \u00a0Andrea also worked as Women\u2019s Specialist, where she designed and delivered training on the specific needs of women in custody. \u00a0As the LGBTQ champion, Andrea delivered training on the treatment of transgender people in custody, and made recommendations of policy reform within the National Offender Management Service to advocate for improvements in safety and respect of transgender prisoners. She currently works with a children\u2019s charity, supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation. Andrea became a Trustee at PAS in October 2023.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5107\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5107\" aria-controls=\"collapse5107\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Gift Nyoni<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5107\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5107\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Gift Nyoni<\/strong>\u00a0has built a diverse career in tax, public law, and human rights. He began as a support worker in a secure mental health hospital for prisoners before transitioning into advice and advocacy roles at a number of charities, the Prisoners\u2019 Advice Service amongst them. He spent time at an international human rights NGO in Budapest, working on strategic litigation against Eastern European countries on behalf of detained adults with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities. Returning to London, he worked at a number of leading human rights firms, specialising in public and private law claims against detaining authorities and public bodies. He has attended clients in prisons across the UK. Now, as a consultant, he represents people seeking international protection, survivors of trafficking and modern slavery, and detained individuals facing deportation, with a special interest in assisting those with serious health or mental health concerns. Gift joined PAS\u2019 Board on July 2025.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5108\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5108\" aria-controls=\"collapse5108\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Farah Alblooshi<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5108\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5108\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Farah\u00a0<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Alblooshi\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is a dedicated and passionate caseworker with extensive experience across custody, community, and hospital settings. She holds an MSc from SOAS, University of London, where her research focused on the legacy of state violence in post-conflict societies. She has worked on specialised casework supporting individuals affected by youth violence and has delivered holistic, wrap-around care for those navigating the criminal justice system. Her professional practice includes significant partnership work with both the NHS and the Criminal Justice System, supporting individuals during custody and through their transition back into the community.<\/p><p>She is deeply committed to social justice and is inspired by radical movements advocating for a fairer and more equitable society. Her approach centres coalition building and community-led solutions, grounded in the belief that lasting change comes from the power of collective action and lived experience. Farah joined PAS as a trustee in July 2025.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-5109\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse5109\" aria-controls=\"collapse5109\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Julie Chiu<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse5109\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-510\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-5109\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Julie Chiu<\/strong>\u00a0<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">is a Senior Counsel in the Patents team at Taylor Wessing LLP, based in London. Julie qualified as a lawyer in 2013 in Australia, and she has more than 10 years experience as a patent litigator, primarily working in the life sciences and pharmaceuticals sector. Julie was a corporate volunteer in the Letters Clinics at PAS for a number of years, and has a broad interest in access to justice. Lubia supervises PAS staff, regularly reports to trustees and runs her own cases.\u00a0 She has been at PAS for 20 years and is a qualified Solicitor. Lubia was originally employed to undertake Race and Religious Discrimination casework, focusing on civil litigation and non-litigious complaints regarding ethnic and religious discrimination.\u00a0 In her role as Director, she continues to advise prisoners on ethnic and religious issues.\u00a0 Lubia runs a regular legal advice Outreach Clinic at HMP Belmarsh, the highest security prison in Europe.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10451\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10451\" aria-controls=\"collapse10451\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Women Prisoners\u2019 Caseworker<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse10451\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1045\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10451\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Kate Lill<\/strong>\u00a0is the Women Prisoners\u2019 Caseworker at PAS, having originated the role in May 2015. Women in prison have different experiences and needs to men, and often require specialist assistance. Kate offers legal advice, information and representation to women in custody, and also runs regular outreach advice clinics at HMPs Bronzefield, Downview, New Hall and Send. Kate previously worked at the Death Penalty Project and Prisoners Abroad, where she assisted British nationals in detention overseas. Kate qualified as a Barrister in 2010.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10452\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10452\" aria-controls=\"collapse10452\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Outreach Caseworker<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse10452\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1045\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10452\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Nicki Rensten<\/strong>\u00a0has been at PAS since 1998 and was PAS\u2019 first outreach caseworker. Nicki delivers legal education and outreach sessions to male prisoners at a number of prisons across England and Wales. As well as providing advice and information on prison law via outreach sessions, Nicki is responsible for coordinating and providing responses to the email inquiries PAS receives via our website. She also takes on cases, both as a result of outreach and through other means of contact with PAS, as well as advising \u00a0prisoners by letter writing and via telephone calls to our advice line.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10453\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10453\" aria-controls=\"collapse10453\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Community Care Caseworkers<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse10453\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1045\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10453\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Marte Lund<\/strong>\u00a0has a degree in Law and Human Rights from University of Essex. \u00a0From April 2016 to June 2017 Marte was a legal volunteer with PAS. \u00a0Before returning to PAS, she worked at Birnberg Peirce Solicitors, dealing with civil actions, inquests and Prison Law. \u00a0Marte qualified as a solicitor in 2022 and began working at PAS in June 2023.<\/p><p><strong>Michelle Yeo<\/strong>\u00a0is a dual-qualified solicitor in Singapore and the UK. She graduated from the Law Faculty of the National University of Singapore in 2011 and has been practising since, first as a lawyer for the Singapore Government where she prosecuted and drafted legislation. She volunteered with PAS from 2018-2020 and then joined a Singapore private law firm in 2020. She was admitted to the rolls of England and Wales in 2021 and joined PAS as its Community Care Caseworker in October 2024.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10454\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10454\" aria-controls=\"collapse10454\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Partnerships Manager &amp; Caseworker<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse10454\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1045\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10454\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Jane Finnis\u00a0<\/strong>is a Solicitor-Advocate. She previously worked in private practice, specialising in crime and Prison Law.\u00a0 Jane has worked at PAS since September 2015, initially providing maternity-leave cover for the Women Prisoners\u2019 Caseworker.\u00a0 In September 2016, she was made PAS\u2019 Partnerships Manager, responsible for managing the relationship between PAS and the various corporate law firms and universities that assist the charity to respond to the increasing amount of letters received from prisoners requiring advice.\u00a0 From July 2018, in addition to these responsibilities, she recommenced casework and now acts as a supervisor.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-10455\" role=\"button\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse10455\" aria-controls=\"collapse10455\" href=\"#\" aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"ea-expand-icon eap-icon-ea-expand-plus\"><\/i> Legal Caseworker<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse10455\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-1045\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-10455\"> <div class=\"ea-body\"><p><strong>Debobroto Dey<\/strong>\u00a0is a qualified solicitor with over twenty years\u2019 experience in prison law, specialising in parole hearings, adjudications, minimum tariff review, sentence calculation and judicial reviews. More recently, he has had experience of working as a Home Office Legal Advisor, within their Managed Migration Department and as a Criminal Defence Solicitor. He has always had a keen interest in advocating on behalf of those who are marginalised in society and in the past has volunteered with organisations such as Action for Racial Justice in Newcastle and Newham Monitoring Project. Amelie has ten years experience in Communications &amp; Fundraising, having worked for various arts and social-justice charities across the South-West.
